Unlocking the Mystery of Reading: A Workshop for Parents & Caregivers

Reading is not a natural process—it must be taught, not left to chance or outdated methods.

That’s why Imagine Cincinnati and the Pleasant Ridge Branch Library are teaming up with Cincinnati Public Schools' Reading Specialist Sarah Kleymeyer to host a 3-hour, hands-on workshop for parents, caregivers, and teachers.

You'll walk away with clear, evidence-based tools for understanding how reading develops—plus practical strategies to support your child’s growth, recognize early signs of dyslexia and other challenges, and guide them at every stage of the learning journey.

Rooted in decades of research on the science of reading, the workshop helps families move beyond misinformation and into practical strategies they can start using right away. Each family will go home with concrete take-home materials, free books, and simple literacy tools.

This event is intended for adult caregivers. Unfortunately, childcare is not available, so we will be recording this event for later viewing.

Registration is recommended so we can plan for the group activities and guarantee take-home kits. But all are welcome to attend, regardless of registration.

If you have any questions about this event, or want to partner with us in providing resources to the community on this day, please email Jen@imaginecincinnati.org.
