Who We Are
Imagine Cincinnati began with a simple question:
Can we build the community we Want and Need for ourselves and our kids?
The past six years have left many families feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and disconnected. The pandemic deepened loneliness, stretched caregivers thin, and disrupted the relationships and rhythms that help people thrive. Since then, growing political division, cultural, and economic tension have left many people feeling anxious, fragmented, and unsure where they belong. Many parents, caregivers, and children are still longing for spaces where they can feel grounded, supported, connected, and truly welcomed.
What started through conversations on the playground and a handful of grassroots gatherings has now grown into rhythms of care woven throughout neighborhoods: free playgroups, community gardens, a short-term transitional home for families experiencing housing insecurity, diverse seasonal celebrations, yoga, camps, mental health and educational support, partnerships, and places where children and caregivers are welcomed exactly as they are.
Today We Are
Imagine Cincinnati is growing into something larger than programs.
We are becoming a relational community care organization — rooted in neighborhoods, nature, belonging, and justice.
Alongside gatherings and nature-based spaces, we are building partnerships, strengthening support systems for families, helping our kids build literacy and self-care skills, and working toward local policy changes that help children and caregivers thrive — from protecting public education to expanding access to housing, enrichment opportunities, green spaces, and inclusive community care.
At the heart of it all is a simple hope:
That families feel less alone.
That children experience belonging.
That communities grow more connected, compassionate, and rooted in care.
That’s why we Imagine Cincinnati — together.
That’s why we Imagine Cincinnati - together.

Meet the Team that’s Helping Us Grow
It was through countless conversations on the playground, at school pickup, and everywhere in between that a team of passionate parents - educators, therapists, community builders of all shapes and sizes - began to imagine the spaces they longed for, for themselves and their kids.
